I’m Darcie Miller, M.Ed., a Literacy Intervention Specialist with more than 15 years of experience in education.

About Darcie

I believe literacy changes lives.

For more than 15 years, I’ve worked with students from kindergarten through 12th grade, helping them strengthen the reading, spelling, writing, and language skills they need to succeed.

As an ESOL District Coordinator, Secondary Teacher of the Year, and educator with a Master’s Degree in ESL Education, I’ve supported students with a wide variety of learning profiles—including struggling readers, multilingual learners, and children with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences.

My instruction is grounded in the Science of Reading and evidence-based structured literacy. I use systematic phonogram-based instruction through Hillsdale College’s Literacy Essentials, structured literacy practices such as UFLI, and data-informed intervention guided by standardized literacy assessments to create individualized learning plans for every student.

Throughout my career, I’ve seen children make remarkable literacy growth—including students who progressed multiple reading levels within a single school year. Every child’s journey is unique, but my goal is always the same: to help children build the skills and confidence they need to become successful, independent learners.
